Ready With the Next Generation EKP

Written by Mikko Lahti | Jul 31, 2019 4:00:00 AM

In order to best serve our existing and future customers in the telecom field, we have prepared a new generation EKP for launch during fall 2019.

Take-up in launch position

The series of versatile EKP Automatic Dual Take-ups - EKP 5, EKP50 and EKP 63 – are well designed in serving telecom applications. These well-known dual take-ups, which have helped define industry standards, are facing component obsolescence. For several months now, certain electrical assemblies are no longer available in the spare parts market. In order to best serve our existing and future customers in the telecom field, we have prepared a new generation EKP for launch during fall 2019.

An EKP, but with more

As with its predecessor, this EKP is available with new lines and yet it is ideal as a retrofit into existing ones. The machine is designed to work independently from line controls, therefore providing an easy fit into any configuration. The degree of automation can be increased by further integrating signals into a line control. To guarantee a fast start-up, the take-up is delivered with tested interconnection cables. The EKP 630 is proven before delivery by running wire through it at full speed.

Today’s manufacturers require equipment that is easy to use and safe to operate. The new EKP 630 brings just that. It is equipped with a self-diagnostics feature for quick and improved troubleshooting. Plus, easy access service points together with overall ergonomics and safety features offer the best working conditions for the operator.

Expectations for the next generation

Expect the EKP 630 to continue with the successful characteristics inherited from the generation it replaces. Indeed, the first EKPs take leave after nearly half a century of service. Utmost respect is held to the founding principles that make the EKP a winning design. Providing the highest values in reel change accuracy is one of them.

By combining the dual take-up know-how acquired over the long-term with today’s modern technology helps ensure our customers that the EKP story continues.
