Assemble and pay-off quality core assemblies ready for jacketing of fiber premise cables with the new KN450 planetary strander. Its modular design lets you multiply the cable-making possibilities.

KN450 Planetary Strander for Premise Cables

The KN450 planetary strander is a brand new, unique pay-off device designed especially for premise cables. One strander module holds four reel positions (e.g., for tight buffers). Several modules can be mounted in-line accordingly. An adjustable dancer controls each tight buffer and detects possible fiber breaks.

Thanks to its design, better cable quality is possible in comparison to the reversal points typical in SZ stranding. Each tight buffer follows a precise helical path, without back twist. The result is a symmetric and round core formed for the sheathing process.

The KN450 is a perfect addition to the OEL42 FTTH line offering launched last year. Up to 25 kg reels can be loaded onto the machine, thus ensuring long production runs and reaching a maximum line speed of 100 m/min.

Benefits

  • Uniform, round cable structure with good symmetry
  • Better cable quality thanks to continuous helix without SZ turning points
  • Long running lengths
  • Small, compact footprint.
