Maillefer was pleased to participate in the industry’s first edition of Wire & Cable Arabia, which took place in Dubai from January 10 – 13, 2015.
We judged it a complete success by the attendance and the quality of visitors. The occasion was opportune to strengthen relationships and to confirm our establishment in Middle East region.
As co-exhibitor of our longtime agent & partner, Scarab of Egypt, Maillefer occupied a privileged location at the show, from where we welcomed customers and prominent visitors. Of the fruitful discussions held, some led to business deals sealed on site with a handshake.
An honored visit by His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al-Tayer – MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), and member of Government of Dubai’s Executive Council – demonstrated the important position that wire & cable industry holds for the region. Indeed, as written in the Gulf Time, January 14, 2015, “Copper accounts for nearly 65% of the production cost of a cable.” and “…(the) UAE ranks among (the) Top 5 copper exporters after USA (4th), Belgium (3rd), Germany (2nd) and Russia (1st).”
Maillefer too recognizes the importance that the UAE holds by directly addressing the needs of wire & cable manufacturers, especially through its regional service center.
