Maillefer opened a new R&D center for Wire & Cable applications in Finland in March. After only two weeks of testing we already have very good results to share with customers at the wire 2014 show.
In the field of material handling, our joint development project with Sikora is now in the type testing level in clean room atmosphere. High speed process studies continue on the secondary coating line. Process modelling has shown several very interesting product and material features when line speeds go above 800m/min.
Our unique vertical line concept for power cable is in full production. It has initiated a wide range of possibilities to verify both, component and process issues with actual end product properties. We can simulate a variety of vertical line configurations and offer optimized process conditions for curing as well as extrusion temperatures. Completely new cross head designs can be compared with current versions and improved product quality also after the curing process has been produced.
In autumn this year we will enhance the material handling concept with a cleanliness scanning system. In addition, a new aviation cable line will be commissioned in the R&D center. You are very welcome for a visit and witness the latest product improvements live. If you have any development needs of your own, those can also be addressed in our new R&D center.
Do come and share our R&D excitement at the wire 2014 show on the Maillefer booth 10/D21!
