ABB’s Corporate Research visited Maillefer’s R&D center at its head quarters in Finland to assess extrusion concepts and processing parameters for ABB’s R&D project.
The scale-up of extrusion processes can be a long and difficult road. If you have the possibility to utilize proper piloting environment, skilled operators and engineers, the process can be fast and streamlined. In August Patrik Kaufmann and Emmanuel Logakis from ABB’s Corporate Research visited Maillefer’s R&D center at its head quarters in Finland.
The aim of the visit was to assess extrusion concepts and processing parameters for ABB’s R&D project. During the week of hard work on the world’s sole vertical pilot line, several prototypes were made. Results were excellent and ABB could jump to the next stage in their challenging R&D project. By the end of the week it was easy to smile and everyone hopes that we will meet again next year.
