Intelligent induction finds its way in XLPE cable production. It represents an additional building block of smart innovations being placed in manufacturer’s hands.
Machine intelligence continues its migrate into the world of cable manufacturing. Maillefer’s focus was brought to the induction postheating step for the production of XLPE power cables. The result is the Postheater net power control, which represents a revolutionary innovation in the field of induction heating. It is made to optimize the manufacturing process. The targets defined were achieved.
Our system intelligently adjusts the feed power to maintain net power at a stable value, ensuring consistent conductor temperature and superior cable quality. The system is not just smart, it’s self-adaptive. It responds to changes to conductor in real time, automatically compensating for any decrease in calculated net power. The feed power set point is increased until the required net power is reached. This means that even during a prolonged production cycle, our system maintains a stable estimated temperature increase, leading to more consistent product quality.
With our novel calibration sequence for each inductive heater, we eliminate the need for manual calibration of net power for each separate workpiece. This allows us to always calculate coil power losses, ensuring accurate power calculation and more intelligent induction power control in real time.
Intelligent induction finds its way in XLPE cable production. It represents an additional building block in the smart innovations being placed in manufacturer’s hands. Experience the future of cable manufacturing with our leading technologies like the Postheater net power control.
