The robust EKP take-ups keep improving over time. The new generation covers today’s broad range of wire & cable applications. It’s a durable addition to any extrusion line, both new and existing.
The EKP family of fully automatic dual take-ups have been serving wire & cable manufacturers for decades. It’s true, their original developers have long-since retired, but not the robust machine design. Our engineers regularly improve the family of EKPs with each generation of machine. Today’s take-ups represent modern, performant and dependable investments for any extrusion line, both new and existing.
Several models make up the EKP family, including the 630, 8, 8F, 8FT, 1300, 800K and 1000K. They cover the broad range of wire & cable applications, including low voltage, building, telecom, automotive and fiber optics.
EKP 630 true to the reputation
The EKP 630 is a familiar take-up for wire extrusion lines serving telecom and special cable. It advantageously replaces the popular 5, 50 and 63 series. The machine is designed as a standalone component, ready for full integration or full independence with line controls.
Flexible integration
It is an easy fit into any configuration. An open design provides a flexible degree of automation with a choice of signals to integrate into an existing line control. In new line deliveries, the EKP is tightly coupled with Maillefer’s line control for full synchronization along the line’s entire speed curve. This translates to more quality product on the finished reels.
Premium efficiency AC motors of the IE3 class drive the reels. Take-up speed is automatically controlled to match the speed of the line product. Constant product tension is ensured with pneumatic dancer installed inside of the take-up. The spooling tension can be set through the control panel or remotely from the line control.
An essential item on any line
EKP take-ups fit in a variety of layouts thanks to their compact footprints. They operate reliably at top speeds, with high reel change-over rates. The take-up’s perfect core / cable laying feature helps smooth the way in downstream processes, notably during reel pay-off. Availability and performance translate to optimum production capacity.
The EKP story continues. By combining the dual take-up know-how acquired over the long-term with today’s modern technology, customers get to rely on winding technology that ensures productivity and quality.
