Back then, the EKP take-ups arrived with top-notch analog technology to control spooling and reel change. Time has passed. In today’s digital world, analog systems make the EKP vulnerable to the unexpected. Many EKPs are concerned, and include models 50, 63, 100 and 130.
To overcome the maintenance challenge and keep the original take-ups running, Maillefer has developed a replacement solution. Our PLC replacement kit prolongs the concerned EKP machines for an extended lifetime in a digital world.
We take the old analog card rack and replace it with a modern Siemens S7 PLC. Identical functions are translated into the new PLC system. The same features are continued without losing performance.
A well targeted replacement
We have the right plug & play solution, which installs quickly into the existing electrical cabinet of the various EKP machines and with minimum downtime. The ready PLC solution is easy to install into the existing cabinet. It only takes a few hours to get it replaced.
Depending on the age and condition of the existing control cabinet, a totally new replacement of the cabinet is recommended. The complete control cabinet includes the new Siemens S7 PLC-based solution to replace the old analog cards. This is the surest way since all other electrical components and drives will be up to date, securing reliable operation for the coming years.
