Maillefer engineers were very eager to present their prototype automatic dual coiler at last fall’s K 2013 show, and with due cause. The newly announced TCA prototype highlighted months of efforts to completely revisit the successful design of its predecessor – the MWB. The TCA promises to offer customers the most advanced and competitive coiling solution possible. Since the introduction of blown (or air-jetted) fiber technologies via micro-ducts, Maillefer has been at the forefront of providing specific solutions to a small group of manufacturers who believed in micro-duct’s future. Now with demand growing so does the requirement for increased production performance and capacity. One area where producers seek optimization is in the conditioning of micro-duct between extrusion and bundle assembly & jacketing.

The Turkish cable manufacturer Seval Kablo visited our booth 10/D21 on Tuesday 8.4. at wire 2014 in Düsseldorf. During their visit, a new medium voltage catenary line, EPL 30 specially tailored for Seval Kablo was affirmed. Installations of the new line will begin in October this year and preliminary plans for an additional medium voltage line are also under way.

Maillefer opened a new R&D center for Wire & Cable applications in Finland in March. After only two weeks of testing we already have very good results to share with customers at the wire 2014 show.
